-Was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 1968

-He began to study clarinet at “Julian Aguirre” Conservatory with Julio   Rizzo.

-Later he continued privately with Mariano Frogioni.

-During 1988, he took lessons of chamber music at “Interdisciplinary School of Music” under the guidance of Monica Cosachov

-In 1988 he was appointed associate professor of clarinet at San Juan  National University and co-principal at San Juan National University Symphony Orchestra.

-Between 1990 and 1994 he studied intensively technique and repertoire with Luis Rossi.

-Between 1991 and 1993 he hold a positon as co-principal and píccolo clarinet at “Santiago Philarmonic Orchestra”(Chile).

 -Between 1991 and 1994 he studied composition under the guidance of Andres   Alcalde in Santiago (Chile).As clarinet player he also performed world premieres of the pieces composed during this workshop.

-In 1998 he attended “Belgian Clarinet Academy”(Oostend, Belgium)    where he worked daily with Robert Spring,Howard Klug, Eddy Vanoosthuyse  and Luis Rossi.
-Since 1998 he has regularly attended (as the only latinoamerican player) “Stockhausen-Kurse-Kürten” courses (Germany) where he has studied Stockahusen’s music for clarinet alone with Suzanne Stephens.

- Since 2000, he has perfomed “Der kleine Harlekin” in concert under the guidance of the composer

-In 2004, through a DAAD scholarship, he stayed in Kürten (Germany), for two months working in “Harlekin” under the guidance of Suzanne Stephens.
During the year 2004, Marcelo González played “Harlekin”. For this performance, Prof. Stockhausen gave him the second prize for the best  interpretation of his work.
 
 -During May and June 2001, a scholarship was awarded by Mozarteum Argentino, Ambassy of France and Fondo Nacional de las Artes (National Arts Fund) so he stayed in Paris where he worked on contemporary music for clarinet alone with Alain Damiens (soloist of “Ensemble Intercontemporain”, Paris).
 -He also took lessons on contemporary music with Roland Diry (Soloist of “Ensemble Modern”, Frankfurt).

-Since 1993 he has worked on contemporary music for clarinet alone. He has Performed Argentinian premieres of works by Stockhausen, Boulez, Berio, Denisov,Carter among others, and world premieres of works by Argentinian composers.

- He has given several recitals in Argentina, Chile, Oostend (Belgium),Berlin  and Paris.
